As a lifelong Democrat, I suspected the differences between why individuals describe themselves as Democrats or Republicans were related to their own individual personality and world view. In this book, John W. Dean has investigated the basis for my questions, describing how in terms of history and psychology individuals might be drawn to either of the parties' philosophy--and their extreme form. This is an important work because it clearly and successfully defines individuals who--because of their lack of confidence in and/or regard for their fellow countrymen both basic to Democracy--should never be allowed a voice in public office.Book Review: Conservatives Without Conscience

Former Nixon insider and legal counsel, John W. Dean, writes from a perspective few others can match about governmental abuses of power, especially in the Bush-43 administration. His position that conservatives believe themselves to be morally superior to the rest of the country, thus entitled to rule others and take actions, regardless of how contrary to the U. S. Constitution they may be, is a strong indictment. Whether this is a wake-up call for non-conservatives, or a reminder to true conservatives that even they can wander off-course, it is also notice that others are watching, taking note, and connecting the dots.Book Review: a conservative perspective on conservatives without conscience

well once again, we learn things about people in power that we would rather not know because it makes one feel so lied to, so angry that our lives are ofton in their hands in government. and this is not good for high blood pressure, but I am really thankful that there are people who will tell the truth, that there are even Republicans who have some integrity.Book Review: Great gift for a person interested in politics
