Book Reviews of Conspiracy Game (GhostWalkers, Book 4)Book Review: The Power of Love Summary: 5 Stars
Conspiracy game is a touching story in that it touches on feelings that a lot of men and women have but either don't know how to express or how to deal with. Jack Norton thinks that he can no longer feel the gentler emotions because of what happened in his youth. He doesn't realize that he uses those emotions in some way every time he does a job. Briony lives in constant fear and she copes with it everyday. Though her fears are strong, her love for her family and friends is even stronger. She doesn't quite belive in herself, but wants to know that if she had to, she could deal with whatever may come her way if she is ever alone. I think that Jack and Briony make a perfect couple because they compliment each other. Briony gives Jack what he needs to feel human again, and Jack gives her what she needs to feel that she belongs and that she could cope on her own if she really had to.
Book Review: Dramatic, Action-filled, Steamy Summary: 4 Stars
This might be my favorite Christine Feehan book, except for one little issue. It seemed like Jake was a little too focused on the physical attributes of Briony. But I don't feel like they were really his thoughts. He's the kind of guy who doesn't really concentrate too much on superficial things like that. Every time he was watching her, all Feehan wrote about was how she looked and blah blah blah. That's one thing I really can't stand. I don't mind it, but when it's to that extend, it's a problem, because appearances are not the basis of a relationship.
Briony's story was interesting, as was Jack's. Jack was so honest and serious, and some of the things he felt and said just broke my heart. I felt such compassion for him and wanted to hold him and love him all night long myself. Definitely one of the more steamy stories from Mrs. Feehan.
Book Review: Sexy and a bit shallow but engaing Summary: 3 Stars
This was my first Feehan book. She's a very bright woman who does her research. I was impressed by her knowledge of technical things and this story has a certain gripping element to it. Feehan is an aquired taste because her books specialize in sexual detail and cartoon like action. Her male protagonist is interesting, but a characature with little depth. However, her female lead is more interesting and well drawn.
The action is hot both on the battle field and in the bed, even if it isn't quite beliveable. Sex scenes are great, but if one could over do it, Feehan does. But I'll tell you this...she grabbed me enough that I'm going to buy her next book just to see how it all works out...yeah, this book ends with so many dangling wires that you have to get the next one to continue the story and see what happens.
Book Review: Back At the Top of Her Game--Hooray!! Summary: 5 Stars
After my last disappointing experience with this long-time fav writer I was almost tempted to pass this book buy--$$$--so to speak. However, I trusted all her excellent past work and wow!--this is a winner. Not only is the male lead carefully defined and his ferocious nature explored, his twin is included to develop both characters more completely. The female lead is also well done acknowledging that part of many women to accept the "Burnt Toast" (yeah for Teri Hatcher's book!) part of our personalities encouraging personal and even painful sacrifice for the good of our families and loved ones. The villians are dreadful and there is a LENGTHY explanation of "enhanced" soldering abilities for the science geeks out among us. For me I'll stick with a passionate romance, beautiful scenery and the welcome return of a great author.
Book Review: Very Good Summary: 4 Stars
I love Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series. I started out disappointed that this book focused on Jack Norton instead of some of the other Ghostwalkers but my disappointed outlook changed. This was a good book. I'm not going to write a plot summary since so many others on Amazon have already did that. I enjoyed the characters and felt that their relationship could have been explored further. I thought everything about this book was too quick and that's why I can't give it 5 stars. I felt that the couple got together too quickly and that the ending was wrapped too quickly. I agree with some of the previous posters I think the phrenomone thing is too similar to the Carpathians and that Ms. Feehan needs to slow that down some. I can't wait to read Deadly Game to find out about the twins. I highly recommend this book.
