Book Reviews of Conspiracy Game (GhostWalkers, Book 4)Book Review: Another good book Summary: 4 Stars
Again, Christine Feehan delivers with a delightful book slipping right back into the Ghostwalker stories. She develops rich characters and makes impossible scenarios seem not only possible but believable. Her research and dialog about military situations is very good. I felt that I could understand the military dialog without being too much. My only disapointment in the story is the endings where everything seems wrapped up much too quickly and the characters and situation become a shell of what the rest of the story was. She needs to take her time and develop the ending to make it as rich and fulfilling as the rest of the story. I have noticed this has been a trend with the last several books.
Book Review: Slight plot bleed over from Dark series Summary: 4 Stars
The book itself was an excellent read, but for all that the book only deserves 4 stars for the bleed over from Feehan's Dark series basic plot line. All the Carpathian males have one possible mate that they recognize instantly and just have to have. Now we find that in this series the soldiers have been engineered to do the same due to pheramones? From reading the first paragraph of the next book in the series (available on the author's website), Feehan uses the same plot device again to allow the next hero to recognize his mate. I'd rather see a little more creativity in how the hero and heroine get together. I kept waiting for Jack to grow fangs and chant the binding vows.
Book Review: Blah blah blah Summary: 3 Stars
I'm sorry to say to say but this is a tired tired plot line used by Christine Feehan. It seems like every hero and heroine of hers are the same exact replicas of each other. Tourtured heros--super nice heroines who love the hero to death--hero who's an almighty alpha male with dark dark emotions and tortured. UGH I rolled my eyes everytime they made love. I laugh on HOW HARD the heroine resisted the hero after she vowed not to get too close to him again. I seriously felt like this was a struggle to finish. Whats funny is that I was more interested in the hero's brother. I can't wait to read his story! I give it three stars because I've always liked Feehan's books.
Book Review: Back in form Summary: 5 Stars
After the original in this series, Shadow Game, I felt the stories had gotten somewhat weaker. I actually didn't even buy this book for the longest time until I spoke with someone who had read it and they highly recommended it. This one is just as good as the original. I loved the characters and the very detailed description of the arms and fighting that they used and engaged in. The descriptions took you to the environment, whether it was Africa or the twins ranch in the midwest. You were pulling for the main characters from the beginning. It was a great set-up for the next book about the other twins. A great read and well worth the purchase.
Book Review: Great Series Summary: 4 Stars
Each new book in this series sucks me further into the Ghostwalker world. This was the best yet; I missed seeing the old characters though. Part of the fun of this series is reading about how each character's talents work with the others. Also - I have to say that Feehan really sells the books short with her endings, every one of the Ghostwalker series seems as though she was pressed against a deadline, and had to wrap things up far too quickly. It's frustrating and cheapens the rest of the book, hope she starts allowing herself some more time to finish future books.
Otherwise, very enjoyable action/sci-fi/romance series!
