Book Review: Best Book at Book Store

I am a beginner. I went to the book store to get a book to get me started and I probably looked at approx. a hundred jewelry books and I picked this one to buy. It really turned out to be a great book because I went home and promply made a gorgeous necklace. I made the one on the cover actually, and I have been getting rave reviews from all my friends. The directions were very easy to understand and with a small amount of practice it all came together. In fact the neighbor kids were able to make some earrings and bracelets from the book. It has some amazing pictures and the projects were really quite beautiful. Can't wait to do some more. I think you'll really like this one if you want to learn how to do wire work.Book Review: Lovely book for beginners

This book presents all the basics to making wire jewelry. It will let you know which supplies are most important, teaches you how to make basic shapes and gives some projects. What is most important though is that it gives one the tools to design one's own jewlery and it does so with such clarity and precision. After reading this book, I made and sold my first earring/necklace set from silver and green flourite. I keep this book by my side when I create wire work at night to sell at my on-line boutique. I give 10% of my profits to charity...
In short -- buy this you will not regret it!

This book just arrived in my mailbox and just about blew me over. I had to find sticky notes to mark all the pages of projects that I'd like to do. The directions are easy to follow and the designs are fabulous. I never knew copper could look so good. As a fairly new jewelry maker, I recommend this book with no reservations. I am anxious to get to my studio and get started. My biggest problem is deciding which project will come first. The book is great for those new to wire wrapping..it is what I would start tweens with. The designs are very youthful, nothing too fancy. It is also a good book for costumes. There are some lovely magic wand projects as well as princess headbands. A great find if you were making Halloween costumes or worked at a theater. I did not give it a high rating because as far as real world designs, there aren't many within; that doesn't mean it isn't a good book, just a bit specialized.Book Review: A Great Gift for a Craft Maker

I found this book totally inspiring! If you've never made jewelry before, this is a perfect starting point! Using 3 simple pliers, a spool of wire and some beads ... you can get started. Beautifully photographed with step-by-step images (just like a good recipe book), the pages walk you through each stage of fabrication. It is packed with design ideas that would inspire anyone interested in using wire and beads. A perfect gift for a craft maker!
