I am from Maui, and I ordered this book just to see how things were in the writer's perspective. Some of this book made me laugh, but some of it was more silly, than actual words used in Hawaii. Believe me, I am a pro at speaking Pidgen. I was born and raised on Maui, and we all spoke Pidgen, and still do, even living here in California. It's a hard language to shake. Some of the words in this book seemed more made up by the public, kind of like newer teenaged used words. I wasn't impressed with this dictionary, mostly because some of the words were too silly, and really not used. Although, there were several words that are used there in Hawaii, and for that fact, if you're a stranger to the islands, this book might help you understand the Pidgen words spoken there. I did get a good laugh at his way of describing the words, it's pure humor. I will keep this book, just for old times sake, but I think the book called "Pidgen to da Max" is way better than this book, and has more words in it that are used traditionally by the Hawaiians, and other races in Hawaii.
