Book Reviews of Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs)

Book Review: ALPHA MALES sigh sigh........
Summary: 5 Stars

wow i have only just discovered Lora Leigh a couple of weeks ago and have only read 4 of her books, 2 being erotica & 2 from this SEAL series and i have to say i'm sooooooo glad i found her!!! i love the SEAL/Special Forces/Cop action romances with steamy sex & alpha males, and Dangerous Games fitted right in smack bang with EVERYTHING mentioned. I thought Genita Low's Shadowy Assassins series was great but Lora Leigh's SEAL series is that next notch up for the steamy & very exciting sex scenes. It was very much a turn on & fitted very well the alpha male characters. It's not as explicit as her erotica books but definitely way more exciting than many other suspense romance authors out there. The novel length was just right too and the storyline line was everything i expected. Many suspense romance novels tend to focus too much on the suspense plot (ie what the bad guy was thinking & who he was gonna do next etc...)than the relationship between the hero/heorine but Dangerous Games was much about the romance & love aspect with the action as a sideline story. I love that protectiveness all these heros have for their woman. I've also read her newest SEAL book - Hidden Agendas which is also very good but Dangerous Games Clint is so my alpha male hero. Great book had to finish in one sitting and can't wait for Ian & Kira's story. now i just have to go find Reno/Raven story.

Book Review: A Hot and Dangerous Read!
Summary: 5 Stars

Morganna Chavez is done waiting for life to happen for her. She watches as her brother a Navy SEAL and his best friend Clint McIntyre, also a SEAL leave to rescue the world. She has loved Clint for as long as she could remember but she is done waiting. It's time to live her life. So without telling anyone she becomes a DEA agent working, making a difference. This is where her path is going to cross with Clint's and this bold and sassy lady is going to get her bad guy, and maybe just maybe finally prove she is more then enough woman for Clint. Perhaps by working as a team undercover will give these two people the chance to grab the one thing they both want more then anything, a happy ending with each other. But first they have to stop a dangerous drug cartel and keep Morganna alive.

This is a fast-paced, sexy read. Ms. Leigh is the queen at creating the total Alpha male. Clint is rough and tough and totally alpha but still very sexy--a hero for those that love these kind of men. There are plenty of twist and turns with a strong plot. There are elements of anal intercourse as well as a BDSM theme that runs throughout. This is not a title for the faint of heart. Morganna is a perfect match for this SEAL. We get to visit with Reno and Raven for a little bit. I enjoyed this full length effort a great deal and look forward to her next book.

Book Review: torrid erotic romantic suspense thriller
Summary: 4 Stars

Overly protected by her older brother Reno and his best friend Clint McIntyre, Morganna Chavez joins the DEA when her two guardians are away saving the world. However, when Clint sees Morganna at a BDSM club he frequents he becomes irate. The Navy SEAL demands she leave, but to his shock, he learns she is undercover to find the dealer of a powerful date rape drug.

When someone shoots at them, Clint agrees to join her assignment as her dom with her as his sub. As he falls in love with "little sister", who has always loved the "Iceman", his past places her in further danger as a Columbia drug cartel that he destroyed like a Phoenix, is back seeking to kill him and his loved ones.

Though much of the audience will need to adapt to the BDSM scene, readers who enjoy a torrid erotic romantic suspense thriller with a different kick will want to participate in DANGEROUS GAMES. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action, but belongs to Morganna and her Iceman. Though Clint is too perfect as a SEAL and a DOM (Morganna's boss Joe Merino previously asked to join the investigation for obvious reasons), Lora Leigh writes a torrid titillating thriller with a somewhat different but fascinating relationship between the lead couple.

Book Review: Mislead, and not happy.
Summary: 2 Stars

The next time I pick up a St. Martin's paperback book, I am going to put it right back down. This book was marketed as romantic suspense. I am an avid reader, and this book might have been suspenseful, but, unless you are into bondage and very rough sex, it was hardly romantic. I am normally open minded, but I do believe this book should have come with a warning label. It is hardcore erotica, and rough at that, and should have been marketed as such. I was misled by the cover as to the content of this book. Nowhere on the cover does it mention bondage or S&M. When I pay $7 for a book, I want to know what I am buying, and the publisher should have given a hint as to what this book contained. The hero of the book was a victim of child abuse, and then grew up with some real problems. I read in another review that the reviewer knew to expect this sort of thing from this writer...how? Certainly not from anything advertised on the cover of the book. Before you blast my review, please understand that I have no problem with this sort of book being available, I do have a problem with being misled as to the content. If every reviewer that critiqued this book mentions erotica, bondage, etc..., don't you think it should have been mentioned somewhere on the cover?

Book Review: Don't care for bondage
Summary: 4 Stars

Okay, I'll admit that I know that when I pick up a book by this author, that I'm getting erotica, which I love. What I really don't care for is Bondage, submissive roles and dominant's, yada, yada, no thanks. I was disappointed with this turn. This book throws us into an immature night club setting. Yes, I love her hero's, they are very, extremely Alpha as a rule (Breeds anyone?). And you can order her around all day, and command silence... but when he threatens her with a ball gag, yuck! I mean, bring on the toys, get down and dirty with each other. It's just that the images of everyone in black leather in these sordid night clubs, it's just too silly to even contemplate; it's not for me. And I am well aware that it isn't purely fiction, that there are really those who are into this sort of thing, It's just hard for me to take the characters seriously. The story is well written, the plot intriguing, it's a great book! But I've decided to keep it in my gym back and finish it in 30 minute increments on my recumbent bike. And pray that in the next installment, the DEA agents/SEALS will be working in a totally different scene.
