Book Reviews of Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs)

Book Review: tedious and full of mistakes
Summary: 1 Stars

This is my first...and my last Lora Leigh book.
Apart from disliking the story, the characters, the setting, and the repetition...the mistakes were unforgivable. They weren't abundant in the first part, (small but obvious errors - such as inconsistent placement of characters and dialogue from one scene to the next) but towards the end of the book, characters in the scene were given the wrong names. At first I thought I missed something so I went back and re-read the lines. Sure enough the wrong names were used ... several times. It's as though the author got bored and lazy toward the end and just wanted to be done with it. How does something this bad and this unprofessional get published?

Book Review: Highly erotic
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my first read by Lora Leigh and if I hadn't read the online reviews and visited Ms. Leigh's website I would have been a bit shocked by just how kinky some of the sex in this book was. Having been prepared for the extreme kink I loved this book. I wasn't overly fond of the Dom/Sub idea but it worked for this story. I agree with the reviewer who was disappointed that we never got a sex scene in Clint's expensive private room full of toys. If you are looking for a tame love story this might not be the book for you but if you want hot, steamy sex this is your book. I am going in search of Reno's & Joe's stories and anxiously awaiting Kell's story in Hidden Agenda's.

Book Review: No Danger, too many games
Summary: 2 Stars

You know, once upon a time, the 'danger' of reading about BDSM would make me forgive little things:- like poor plot lines, poor characterisation, poor sentence structure. But those days are no more.

This is a very vanilla BDSM book with repetitive themes and word usage. It's badly written, which is a shame, because I think Lora Leigh is better than this. The characterizations are very broad and not very interesting. The tension is vapid and the villans card board cut outs.

This is not a good romance, nor is it an interesting thriller. I confess I did not read it all the way, but started skimming and then skipped whole chunks. I was very disappointed.

Book Review: Very Entertaining
Summary: 5 Stars

I have read most of Lora Leigh's books and have enjoyed them for what they generally are, more erotica than storyline. This was actually different. Although I agreed with one of the reviewers that this is a typical storyline for her, Ms. Leigh put a lot more development into these characters than those I have read in the past and I really came to care for them both. It wasn't I am mad at the world so lets hop in bed every other page. No, the hero really does think he is too good for the heroine and needs to finally prove to himself that he deserves the love she is offering. Ms. Leigh's Seals are fun and exciting and I cannot wait to read the stories that follow.

Book Review: Skip the young girls and choose a real woman
Summary: 2 Stars

I buy all of her books but the last two are just too much. Harmony's Way and this book were such a disappointment. I think she took a mildly interesting short story and attempted to stretch it into a full length novel. A clear mistake. The heroine was incredibly annoying and the stud was just as bad. I wish her hero's would accept the sexuality of the heroines and give them the good bang they both need. That would probably happen if Leigh would stop putting teens with older men. Aren't there any thirty year old women who would love to handle these men? Really Leigh, stop with the teeny boppers and give your heros a real woman!
