Book Reviews of Dark of the MoonBook Review: Good mystery Summary: 5 Stars
A good first book about Virgil Flowers, who has appeared in some of John Sanford's later books in the "Prey" series. He's very unique as a charecter and as a cop. This mystery held my interest and kept me guessing through the twists and turns that develop throughout the story to the unexpected end. I recommend this book to fans of mysteries and especially to faithful readers of John Sanford's books. He writes about the same charecters, but each book is very different. I would recommend reading them in order, starting with the first in each series. They are always exciting!
Book Review: A totally fascinating crime genre novel by a master Summary: 4 Stars
Kinky sex and bloody violence is said to sell books, and I believe it. This effort by Sandford is one of his best. Some five bloody murders and as many prime suspects. Once the culprit is identified, obtaining proof requires much historical research. Along the way is a side action involving a DEA action taking down a meth lab. The final chase scene is a little weak, but dramatic, our protagonist somewhat tired from all of the casuaL sex he has encountered throughout the story.
Book Review: Sandford: Business As Usual Summary: 5 Stars
I don't mean my review title to sound banal. I mean, us usual, John Sandford gives readers the 'best bang for his buck'! I've never been disappointed by a Sandford story. Always well-crafted and a fast exciting read. Love his characters and the plot always carries me away. The only downside to starting one of his books, is the inability to put said book down. That's what I love; a story that grabs me on page one and then makes it impossible to put down! a roller coaster ride.
Book Review: I like it Summary: 4 Stars
I have enjoyed all of the John Sandford books that I have read and have read and own most of them. I am not tired of the characters in the "Prey" books but am glad he has added a new character to get to know. Virgil Flowers is quite different from Lucas, Del and Sloan but just as interesting. I also like the connection that exists between Lucas and Virgil.
Book Review: He's Back! Summary: 5 Stars
I had gotten bored with John Sandford and the Prey books (he used to be in my Top 5 authors), so this was my first Sandford book in awhile, and my first Virgil Flowers book, but it's great! A complicated plot with ever-evolving discoveries, interesting subplots, and lots of twists and turns! This book kept me guessing right up to the end! Great job!
