Book Reviews of Death in the GardenBook Review: interesting psychological mystery Summary: 4 Stars
this is a beautifully written book. the prose is wonderful, the characters are vivid and distinct from one another, the plot is well worked out.
the american publisher has printed a hint on the back cover: "who's likely to like this? fans of minette walters." this is an accurate statement. this novel is more about character and psychology, memory and human interactions than forensics or procedure.
Book Review: Good Read Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book and another one Eliz. Ironside wrote, "The Accomplice". It reminded me of Agatha Christie books. I had a little difficulty keeping the people straight in the beginning, but once I did the book moved along and for me it was a hard-to-put-down book. I would absolutely recommend this book.
Book Review: Enjoyed this a lot Summary: 5 Stars
Well written, the structure of the story (opening with a house party in the 1920's that ends in a death, then jumping ahead to present time when a young woman tries to unravel the mystery) is very effective and although the solution isn't a shocker, it's satisfying nonetheless.
Book Review: Death in the Garden Summary: 3 Stars
The reviews were great but I was disappointed. The story seemed to move awfully slow and I found myself having to go back and reread what I read yesterday. It wa good but disappointing. Interestingly different plot.
Book Review: British period mystery Summary: 5 Stars
The lovely innocent times in England prior to WWII are the setting for this complex twisting mystery. Good read!
