All Sultana's histrionics on behalf of women amount to just about squat. A major reason for the poor treatment of women in Saudi Arabia is the fact that everyone values their own creature comforts and family honor above justice... and for all Sultana's hand-wringing, she does the same.
One of the arguments that Sultana's husband makes is that Saudi Arabia has a lower crime rate than other countries in the world. And yet, Sultana tells of more despicable crimes IN HER OWN FAMILY than could be found in years of National Enquirer issues. Perhaps he means that they have a lower conviction rate than any other countries, due to their complete and total lack of prosecution of any crime whatsoever
