She was on Wellbutrin, and two other psychiatric drugs, and was convinced that she would die from her suicidal tendencies if she quit them. Reading the Fundamentals of Thought by L. Ron Hubbard cured her desire to do drugs completely. She is now an aspiring actress who is living a happy drug free life.
This book review is to help you decide whether this book is right for you. If you are honest and are looking for an engineering style approach to righting the wrongs of your mental state then this book is for you. If you are looking for sympathy for all the horrible things done to you in your life and a self help approach that allows you to blame others for the way you are - well this book will not help you do that. It gives you the tools to take control of you life and make things go right. It speaks of truth and responsibility and it delivers what it promises too - through truth and reason. The method is actually quite simple and ingenious, and it's not a mystery how it works. It's all explained right there so you can make the decision for yourself if it is rubbish or a very very researched technique.
If you have a daughter that's apparently on drugs and sleeps with bums this book will give you the tools to handle her where force and threats and reason have failed.
If you can't get up in the morning and you don't get along with people at work and every time you have time to do the wonderful things that you aspire to do in your life you turn on the TV - This book can easily help you.
The reason people do the wrong thing even though they know exactly what the right thing to do is, is completely exposed in this book, and it gives you the techniques to handle it. That isn't to say that is doesn't take work and discipline and perseverance, but the thing that is different here in this book is that you attack the root of the problem rather than the "leaves" like almost all other solutions out there. Its amazing to wake up at 6AM because you want to rather then because you'll lose your job if you don't, and its amazing to love your significant other because its the real feeling that is inside of you rather then because you know that you're supposed to and your trying to do the right thing.
I have no ties to the Church of Scientology or a Dianetic Foundation. I get no financial gain or any other type of payment from anyone for writing this. I write this because it is true and I believe that the truth, more than anything else, makes the world a better place. Anyone else who believes that too would find this book very inspiring in their quest for something better than the petty outbursts and problems we face in our daily lives.
I very highly recommend this book.
