Book Reviews of Digital Designs for ScrapbookingBook Review: AT LAST!! Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to give digital scrapping a try, but after attempting to approach it via trying to understanding Photoshop Elements 4, I was plowed under by techno-babble and almost gave up. Next I tried to find some tutorials online that were well-written or clearly-presented and easy to understand. Generally speaking, forget it. Thankfully I happened upon this book. Let me just say that any fool (even one as digi-clueless as I am) can jump into digital scrapping with Renee Pearson holding your hand. The book's clearly written. It's helpfully illustrated. It's methodically laid out. In short, YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HECK SHE'S TALKING ABOUT!
Book Review: The Best Book Available for Learning Digital Scrapbooking Summary: 5 Stars
This is absolutely the best book available for learning the ins and outs of digital scrapbooking. It comes with a disk that includes 4 collections of digital paper designs and digital elements to use with those papers. The disk alone is worth the price of the book.
Renee is practical and very easy to understand. She gives detailed, step by step instructions to help you create beautiful scrapbook pages. She also easily explains the basic and the advanced features of Photoshop Elements.
This is not just a book of pretty pictures, this is everything you need to start creating beautiful digital scrapbook pages.
Book Review: Love this book! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this book after taking an online class with Renee and it was even better than I expected. It really gives great instructions on the "HOW". In addition, she manages to show some different styles and lots of tricks and tips that I would never have gotten on my own. Definitely a must have for the digital scrapper. And lots of goodies on the enclosed CD. Four different sets of digital papers/embellishments. These alone are worth the price of the book. It has a nice wirebound binding covered with paperboard so that it lies flat when I'm trying new things out.
Book Review: OK if you have Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 Summary: 3 Stars
I purchased this book thinking it was a good introduction into digital scrapbooking. It seems like a nicely laid out book, but it is only for Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 users. There is a trial version of PSE 3.0 on the included CD, but PSE 3.0 is no longer available to buy anywhere. So although the layouts look nice and the included CD has a lot of goodies on it, I was looking for something that could give me a better overview of all the various softwares people use for digital scrapbooking, rather than a primer for Elements 3.0.
Book Review: Awesome, info-packed must have! Summary: 5 Stars
After several years of fits and starts into digital scrapbooking, I finally dove into Renee Pearson's book, Digital Designs for Scrapbooking. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise! All this time, I've been thinking digital scrapbooking was a huge mystery and Renee makes it simple, easy to understand, and very gratifying! I consider this my digital scrapbooking handbook. If you are at all interested in learning to make digital layouts, this is a Must-Have! The layout of the book is friendly, it's packed with information. Love it!
