When I started scanning 3,000 or so color slides that I had taken over the last 55 years, I discovered that some had deteriorated drastically and dramatically. These were of great value to me, so I set out to buy every book I could find on photo restoration. With the help of this book I was able to recover photos that I thought were hopeless. Along the way, I learned how to improve photos I have taken more recently that I did not realize could be improved. No other author that I have found comes close to Ctein's encyclopedic memory and ability to explain the theory behind the processes.
