Book Review: A Must-Have for Prehospital ALS Providers

I purchased an older version of this book 10 years ago when I was in Paramedic school, and it's become my main-stay resource for when I'm in the field or in the Emergency Department. This edition includes the "new" ACLS updates and a nice LOOONG list of prescription medications.
The two sections I turn to most are the Glascow Coma Scale (because we have to document a GCS on every patient) and the Rx listings. It's small enough to easily fit into my BDU thigh pocket, and light enough to not be a burden.
I've also used this extensively when I'm working in the Emergency Department, particularly on some of the less-common but critical medications, like dobutamine or epi drips.
The pages are moisture proof and tear proof, and are designed to take a licking! I have had earlier copies slowly have their plastic spiral binding break off, and usually have to buy a replacement every 4 years. But by then, "standards" have changed and enough new Rx meds are in the field to justify an upgrade to a newer edition, so it is time to get an upgrade anyway!
