Book Reviews of Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery: Over 140 Delicious Low-Fat High-Protein Recipes to Enjoy in the Weeks, Months and Years After Surgery

Book Review: You can eat well and still lose weight
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a terrific recipe book for those of us who have undergone weight loss surgery. Just reading some of the recipes can satisfy a craving. There are some involved meals, but for the most part the recipes are just what we need after this surgery to keep us on track and enjoy it while the weight drops off. If you are someone who loves to cook and wondered if you'd still want to do it after the surgery then by all means this is the book for you. I love to cook, play with spices and techniques so this book lets me continue that passion and still keep losing weight.

Book Review: This food is fabulous!
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband had bariatric surgery in June. When we arrived at the solid food stage, I was in a panic as to what to cook. Moist low fat and tasty food was quite an order.

I have made several recipes from this book and they have been really delicious and satisfying, not just a concession to the bariatric diet. They are not too fussy to prepare and a joy to serve and eat. When I first made the scallops in garlic and wine sauce my husband could not get over how delicious they were.

This is a great cookbook whether you have had bariatric surgery or not and I highly recommend it to anyone. Low fat delicious food is for everyone.

Book Review: 100 down and 100 to go
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this book months before my surgery. Once I had my surgery in June, I started going through the book and picking out the recipes that I could have as soon as could eat. This book actually gives you suggestions as to whether or not you should try the recipe depending on what week you are in as well as breakdown of 3 kinds of surgery. I have tried about 20 of the recipes and have loved each of them. I have learned so much from this book. I hope that someone somewhere puts out another cookbook for us post-ops. BTW at 11 weeks post-op I am 100 lbs. down.

Book Review: Good to Know
Summary: 4 Stars

I wish all cookbooks were required to list the nutritional values for their recipes. This book should make post-surgical cooking and eating a great deal easier.

Book Review: Answers a lot of questions that your doctor doesn't talk about
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a really, really good book about life after WLS. There are so many questions you don't think to ask your doctor -- some of them, your doctor wouldn't know the answer unless he was banded himself! This is a guiding hand. The recipes are excellent, what I liked is that they are all simple, with no unnecessary steps or ingredients so that even a non-cook like myself can make them. Highly recommended.
