Book Reviews of Economic Facts and Fallacies

Book Review: Solid and Interesting
Summary: 5 Stars

Many of the economic facts in his book contradict conventional wisdom and are somewhat counter-intuitive, but you cannot deny the facts and it makes me realize how little I really understand about economics.

In this election year it is interesting about how much bad economic policy is being spewed out by politicians on both sides of the aisle. Every politician should read this book....however, good economic policy is rarely popular since in many cases it is counter-intuitive.

Pete.

Book Review: Economics made easy!
Summary: 5 Stars

In todays ecomomy you hear about economics and economist all the time but do you really know what that means? This book while having a topic which I would normally have found boring was an amazing read. I had people at work who saw me reading a book on economics and thought I had gone looney! I would read little bits to them and the next thing you know, they wanted it when I was done with it. I will read more from Dr. Thomas Sowell! He makes what appears to be a difficult subject so simple to understand!

Book Review: Required Reading
Summary: 5 Stars

Thomas Sowell once again has the courage to critically examine generally accepted and politically correct social policies. His well researched and documented arguments unmasks these fallacious and ill conceived policies. "Economic Facts and Fallacies" is historically documented and an academic breath of fresh air.
This book should be required reading for all elected officials on the Municipal, County, State, and Federal level. Social Engineers could use a dose of economic reality as well.

Book Review: Informative, yet easy to read
Summary: 5 Stars

My knowledge of economics is admittedly limited, but this book was written so well that even a rookie like me could understand the concepts. Though I'm not sure I agree with every conclusion Sowell draws, the book was incredibly informative and really got me thinking. I know I will listen to reports on economic data in a whole new way! I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to gain a better understanding of the meaning (or lack of meaning) in the statistics so often thrown our way.

Book Review: Outstanding
Summary: 5 Stars

Sowell's work is great! I would recommend anything Sowell's has written. But this book is especially good. It's the best book I've ever read on economics. I heard about Sowell's work on "Free Markets With Dr. Mike Beitler," a libertarian internet-radio show. I'd reccommend this book along with Beitler's Rational Individualism: A Moral Argument for Limited Government & Capitalism.
