Most books on economics are unfriendly and unreadable by ordinary people since they tend to be long and/or complicated. This book is relatively short at about 75 pages and has no mathematics and little technical jargon. It is useful for individuals who are interested in learning about some key economic ideas and managers who work in firms and other sorts of organizations.

This book covers some key macroeconomic ideas. More specifically, it discusses in plain English an economic framework for understanding how the world works with interconnected parts such as property rights, markets, prices, employment, and government regulation. Perhaps understanding these ideas is even more important in the current environment in the U.S. with increasing government intervention and regulation.
The author has a PhD degree from Stanford University, is a certified public accountant, and is currently the MBA program director for finance, economics, and accounting at University of Maryland University College. He has managed to communicate some complex economic concepts in relatively simple ways that are mixed with some ordinary examples. In summary, this is a good book for anyone who has not taken an economics course recently and who is interested in learning about basic economic concepts and how the world works. It can be read by ordinary people in a few days.
