Book Reviews of Enchanted: Erotic Bedtime Stories For Women

Book Review: fun erotic fairy tales
Summary: 4 Stars

Using thirteen fairy tales and converting them into erotica tales, Nancy Madore provides an enchanting heated spin to popular stories like Snow White, Cinderella, The Ugly Duckling, Beauty and the Beast and Goldilocks, etc. The tales are fun to read especially when compared to the original (or at least your memory of such), Shelly Long's Fairy Tale Theatre, and the Fractured Fairy Tales of R&B. Each story is fun with spicy alterations and twists into something ardent like kissing the dwarfs turn them into princes, Mrs. Fox and Mrs. Wolf discussing husband swapping, Beauty missing the Beast in her spousal prince or The Empress' New Clothes.

Book Review: Surprisingly good
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this with Unruly Appetites and Naked Erotica. From the cover and reviews I thought Enchanted would be the most tame of the three but I was curious about the fairy tales. I am so glad I got it. What the reviewers have said about no profanity is true but I was surprised to find that this made the stories sexier. Each fairy tale has a sexy fantasy in the plot. The writing is so good that I even liked the stories that didn't have the fantasy for me, like "The Goose Girl" which was exciting to read even though I personally am not into the triangle thing. Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite fairy tale and now because of Enchanted it is my favorite fantasy too.

Book Review: Best I've read in a long time
Summary: 5 Stars

After years of reading erotica and romance the same old thing starts to get a little stale, which is why I liked this book so much. It is fresh and very modern while at the same time written in classic 'fairy tale' form. I was blown away by the smart way Nancy Madore writes about sex. She doesn't just stick it in your face but tells the story so elequently you almost forget that the fantasies are so naughty. And a few of the fantasies are most certainly naughty, like in the case of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, or Goldilocks and the three BARONS, but with Madore's presentation of it I was not offended. Her writing style fits somewhere in between D.H. Lawrence and Ann Rice.

Book Review: Had potential, but sputtered out
Summary: 3 Stars

Many of the tales contained therein were told, not shown. Some of the stories were better than others, but a couple left me rather disappointed. The stories and ideas had potential, but ultimately fell flat.

What could have helped was to use more fairy tales, such as Puss in Boots, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, and what have you. A couple of the tales weren't really interesting or magical to start with, and didn't excite me. Frankly, I didn't feel that the money I spent on this book was worth it. Half the price would have been better for what I got.

Overall, three out of five for a decent read and effort, but nothing more.

Book Review: Horrible message
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this book because I was hoping for a sex positive book for females. I was definitely wrong. Tons of the short stories were of women being taken advantage of. For example, take Goldy Locks and the Three Bears. Instead of bears it was three men. When they found Goldy Locks in their house they surrounded her and started taking off her clothes. It sounded more like rape than sexy to me. Every story the female didn't like what was happening, but then suddenly she was fine with it.

To me this was not a female positive book at all. It was just suggesting the idea that women like being raped.
