Book Reviews of Ernie: The AutobiographyBook Review: Pleasant man, pleasant book Summary: 4 Stars
It is great that one can reminiscence at 91 as positively as Ernie Borgnine. He seems to be warm-hearted person, who evaluates people with kindness. There is no deep analyses of films, if somebody wants those, but simple talk about his experiences with film people and also others who have influenced him. This is a fast read and gives a good feeling.
Borgnine has always been good even in quite poor films. This and his long history in films and TV gives him a special right to tell his story. He is able to see both his life and his films realistically without regret or boasting. This is not a great book, but very pleasant to read.
Book Review: Ernie's Life Summary: 5 Stars
A terrific book about a terrific person, who is a super star and yet down to earth. Ernie has never been like some of the superficial people in Hollywood and he loves his fans. I saw him with a crowd around him while he was signing autographs, and I asked him if this was too much, and Ernie said," absolutely not, these are my fans and they buy tickets to the movies and I love them!". Ernie is one of the top true patriots in the USA and would do anything for the troops without hesitation. This is not in the book! To know Ernie is to love him!

A personal friend of Ernie and proud of it.
Book Review: A Joy to 5 Stars
This book is the best celebrity autobiography that I have read! It's so positive and full of optimism. Most celebrity autobiographies are full of problems and down times. Not, "Ernie"! When he goes through tough times, he stays positive. He had some tough marriages but has now been married for over 35 years! It's a great story of hanging in there and never giving up and great things will happen, as they have for Ernie Borgnine. I also enjoyed his memories of so many movies and stars. There aren't great stars like Ernie Borgnine anymore. Today's stars just aren't important. You'll love "Ernie"!!!
Book Review: A REAL ICON Summary: 5 Stars
ERNIE'S BOOK WAS ALSO A GREAT READ. ONLY THING THAT BOTHERED ME ABOUT IT WAS THE FACT THAT HE FAILED TO MENTION THE TWO VERY IMPORTANT WOMEN IN THE MOVIE" MARTY". AND THEY BOTH HAD SUCH GREAT ROLES. I'D LIKE TO GIVE THEM DUE CREDIT WHICH THEY MOST CERTAINLY DESERVE...THEIR NAMES ARE ESTHER MINCIOTTI, WHO PLAYED MARTY'S MOTHER, AND THE OTHER FINE ACTRESS, WHO PLAYED THE SISTER, WAS AUGUSTA CIOLLI. ALSO THE GIRL THAT PLAYED THE LOVE INTEREST WAS BETSY BLAIR, WHO WAS MARRIED TO GENE KELLY. GREAT BIO. WELL WRITTEN....FRANK COLLETT TAGLIERI
Book Review: A wonderful read Summary: 5 Stars
Having just seen him in the final episodes of E.R., I couldn't resist picking up this book. I can't believe he's in his 90's and still out there acting. GOOD FOR HIM! Mr. Borgnine is a fine talent and, in reading this book, a pretty decent guy. The book reads like you are sitting with a favorite uncle at a family gathering hearing him tell stories about 'the old days'. It's a fine read and he truly is a gentleman when discussing some less than stellar people he's come across in his lifetime. I enjoyed this book. God bless him!
