Book Reviews of EscapeBook Review: Mouth Hanging Open Summary: 5 Stars
I listened to this in the car and found myself driving around with my mouth hanging open. This story is one woman's account of living in a polygamist marriage in the FLDS. It amazes me to think that a religion, whose purpose is to worship a higher power, can commit such purposeless cruelty in the name of God.
From a sensationalist perspective, the book was amazing. It was a riveting story that kept my attention from start to end. But it is also a very intense story.
Book Review: Couldn't put it down... Summary: 5 Stars
This book is great all around. An amazing real life-survivor story. It gives hope to those going through any struggles that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I just bought the sequel "Triumph" and am so far equally impressed. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Book Review: Escape: A review Summary: 5 Stars
From the book:
"I was born into a radical plygamist cult. At 18, I became the 4th wife of a 50 year old man. I had 8 children in 15 years..."
The book tells of the abuse of power and how cult religion can create overpowering situations where people endure horrific things. It also gave insight into how a family of 35 lives. Sounds chaotic. It speaks of the politics in the family and the cult.
Book Review: hard life Summary: 5 Stars
Easy reading and (for me) easy to identify with Ms. Jessop. I couldn't put the book down. Life is hard enough withouth having the hardship inflicted on these individuals. How anyone could allow abuse of women, children and animals and call themselves followers of God is beyond me. I am glad she got out and got most of her children out. It would be interesting to know how she is doing today and what has become of Betty.
Book Review: A great book! Summary: 5 Stars
Escape not only offers insight into a world that few know about and even few understand, but also gives us a story of a woman who was willing to fight for the freedom of her children and herself. The tale exposed in the book seems almost too unreal, and as you learn of her struggles you can't help but be drawn to her and her family. The need to know more is ever present. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
