Book Reviews of Fablehaven: Secrets of the Dragon Sanctuary

Book Review: Great Series
Summary: 4 Stars

I've always loved this series. Its intense action makes it nigh on impossible to put down, and I enjoy the way all the plot threads meet in the end to tie everything up. Mr. Mull utilizes suspense and action well, and leaves you wishing for the next book.

Only a couple of negatives. I've noticed that the same thing has happened several times in the series: namely, they go to a preserve, get an artifact, ect, ect. This redundancy doesn't bother me sufficiently to stop me reading, however. Another thing is Kendra and Seth's parents. The end wasn't as riveting as it could have been because the parents aren't major characters, and so you don't care what happens to them. Also, one other thing, I can't find any real depth in the Fablehaven series. If you're expecting to find a deeper meaning in life through this book, you're probably going to be dissapointed. However, the series is very enjoyable on the whole, and I definetly reccomend it.

I eagerly anticipated this book!
The well conceived world where fantastic creatures still exist but are largely confined to secret reserves is a fun way to leave our own world behind. I had correctly predicted who Gavin was and to which side he was loyal but that knowledge didn't keep me from enjoying the thrilling dragon ride!
Seth gains new abilities in this installment that catches him up to his sister in many ways and Kendra and Seth now seem to be perfect compliments to each other, each having their specialties that allow them to fight for against the society of the evening star.
The only things that I am questioning is Warrens injury resulting in him playing only a very small part in this book. I still predict that he is the true mate for Kendra. I also am not crazy about the hint at the end of the book that Kendra and Seth's parents will play a larger role in the fifth and final book.

Book Review: You'll be mad when it's over!
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been a fan of the book series for a while. I was looking forward to this book and now I can't wait for the next one. I don't want to ruin any thing for those of you who haven't read this book. I really think that the take on dragons in this book is refreshing. I don't even consider myself a fan of dragon books but I liked Brandon's take on the topic. The plot really expands and you get a lot more info about Kendra and Seth along with other charters. Some great charters get added to the line up and I can't wait for them to be expanded upon. I find it hard for a series to keep my attention, but that wasn't the case with secrets of the dragon sanctuary. If your a fan of the series you won't be let down. The only problems I had was the ending which just left me pissed that I had to wait until Brandon Mull finished the next book. Buy it now!

Book Review: Fablehaven review
Summary: 5 Stars

Fablehaven: Secret of the Dragon Sanctuary, is an exciting combination of action and adventure. I've read the whole Fablehaven series so far, and this book is by far my favorite. Suspense and thrill kept me turning the pages as fast as I could until 3 in the morning. The ending had me hanging for more, especially the last sentence. Brandon Mull sure knows how to get kids excited for reading, even my cousin who hates reading, loved this series. This book had me reading in class, at dinner, and with a flashlight under my covers. Mull has truly outdone himself and I can hardly wait for the fifth book. I absolutely adore reading, and I could hardly set the book down, so I finished it in like 6 hours. Secret of the Dragon Sanctuary is a wonderful book and I recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy novels.

Book Review: Fave book of the series so far
Summary: 5 Stars

If you know me well, you know I LOVE dragons, and this had plenty of that! I won't post too much because I don't want to spoil it. All I want to say is well okay **Spoiler warning** I do have a fewXD
Gavin ends up being Navarog. I'd have to go back and read the 3rd one to find the clues that were supposedly there, but I was totally shocked to find this out! (Especially since Gavin was one of my fave characters. I was horror struck to find out he was so much more than he seemed.
Also, I now have a new fave character, that would be Raxtus the dragon. Not only do I LOVE his name, but I love the fact that he is a 'miniature' dragon. He is so much like Kendra in ways, though he doesn't know his own strengths. I really, REALLY hope we get to see him again in the next book.
