Book Review: Absolutely Fabulous

This book totally changed my life. Because of facial scars I have to wear makeup everyday and it always looked like I had on makeup. Kevyn's book teaches you how to use makeup so your face has a natural glow, and it also gives tips for outrageous looks when you're feeling in a party mood. The greatest aspect of this book is that he includes women of all shapes and colors. He even shows how men can use makeup without feeling "less masculine".Book Review: Kevyn's the best!

Kevyn Aucoin's books never disappoint. I always pick up a couple of little tricks here and there that I incorporate into my beauty routine. If I want to try a new look I try to read through the parts I am most interested in. Of course everyone loves to look at the transformations that women AND men can go through just by using makeup. I know I show this book to lots of people and they are always completely amazed at all the before and after shots!Book Review: Kevyn is a makeup genius, but spare me the political views

Ever since I first saw Kevyn Aucoin on TV, it's been my dream to have him make me over. He is a makeup genious, the most wonderful! I love the make overs and the great makeup tips. However, I was a little offended by some of his political comments. If he wants to write about politics, he should write about them in a politically based book, not a book that is supposed to be about makeup. I think he'd sell more books if he wasn't so offensive.Book Review: This Book is Excellent

This book inspires you and is a valuble resource. I brought it to my Beauty school and I had a hard time getting it back. The author gives excellent instruction as well as great personal storys. It was fun and entertaining. This book gives you step by step instructions on application. From a Cosmotologist view point, if you are thinking about getting more involved in make-up, or brushing up on some skill this book is for you.Book Review: Practical and fanciful makeup all in one book

Kevyn Aucoin does a good job of showing women how to do everyday makeup, including highlighting and lowlighting areas to emphasize the positive and unique features of each person. The beauty of this book though is in illustrating how makeup can be used to transform one's face for stunning and whimsical looks. I would recommend this to someone who is familiar with makeup but would like to learn how powerful a tool it can be.
