Book Review: The magic of makeup

Kevyn Aucoin is a fantastic makeup artist. A true artist who understands the canvas of the female face. I am a professional photographer and most of the time I also do the makeup on my models. Kevyn's book has opened up so many more ideas for me on how I can create a mood with how I apply the makeup to models. I highly recommend this book. Pure Genius! Kevyn not only knows how to 'paint a face', but he's also handy with pen and paper. I loved every inch of this book, from the title page to the credits. As with his previous book Making Faces, he outlines each look he makes and simplfies the process so that the non-professional can achieve a similar finish. I bought this as my very first book about make-up. I already new the basic techiniques as I am slowly trying to master this art. I found "FaceForward" to be very interesting and I definitely learnt many new things. Kevyn Aucoin was definitely a forerunner of make-up and he was one of many who made this an art. I am sure that this book will continue to be of help to me even in my future studies.
