This book is dedicated on the life of David. A glorious but flawed man. In the reading of the bible I never really "got" David. How could God support him so much when he failed in many ways by his sins and he was a soldier who ran from Saul and resided with the enemy when he lost his faith in God. David forgot to pray. David was successful in so many ways, yet he failed morally in others. For instance, Batheesheba. He ignores his family and focuses on the country. He has many wives and many children. All who seem to be placed on the backburner. In the end with the insurrection of his son and he is banished from his own city. David has days of depression and days of victory, but he is human. Each time that he turns away from God. His Goliath, his giant comes to rule and rips apart his life. David is just like us.
