Book Reviews of Fade Away (Myron Bolitar Mysteries)

Book Review: FADE AWAY - VIVIDLY DONE!
Summary: 5 Stars

Am reading Harlan Coben's Bolitar series in order. So far, loving them all. They are witty, sardonic, sarcastic all the way! Myron is a honey. Win is wonderful!!!

Myron is rehired to his old basketball team, the N. J. Dragons, to go undercover and find their star player who is missing. He is also Myron's biggest rival from the old days, before another player injured Myron's knee in a run-in on the court. What a good book! I could hardly put it down. Guessing til the end. And the end was touching and poignant. It solved a mystery in Myron's life too. Had a tough time finding this book but I am glad I persisted.

On to the next, "One False Move". Mr. Coben never disappoints.

Book Review: Outstanding!
Summary: 5 Stars

Being an avid reader of mysteries, I am thrilled to find an author such as Coben to add to my list of must-reads. Thanks to Amazon.com's recommendation, I first read Fade Away, then scampered to the computer to order the rest of Coben's books. Even if you aren't a sports person, this book will be a joy to read and hard to put down. His characters are interesting and just neurotic enough to be believeable. The reader instantly likes both the hero, Myron, his best friend, the anti-hero, Win, as well as Myron's assistant and girl friend. The plot is intricate and you wonder if it will all be tied together at the end. This is one of the best mysteries I've read in a long time. Try it - you won't be disappointed!

Book Review: Add to your list
Summary: 4 Stars

If Coben is not a member of your stable of regular reads, add him to the list. His plotting is expert and his characters are engaging and fun. Myron is a nice blend of Parker's Spenser and Crais's Elvis Cole. The over-the-hill athlete is a nice fixture in crime fiction and this one, a lawyer/sports agent/investigator pursues a unique combination of activities. His lethal preppie sidekick Win is a category fiction staple, but Win's unprepossessing exterior and stone killer ways also represent a unique combination. The pages fly by and the skill level is high. Enjoy.

Book Review: The Best From The Best
Summary: 5 Stars

Fade Away is the best of a series that is by far the most entertaining mysteries available today. Harlan Coben has created characters that are full of life and humor and a plot that will cause your jaw to drop on more than one occasion. This book is so good that I read all the other M. Bolitar books within 14 days. They are all great. If you like mysteries, you will LOVE all of Harlan Coben's books. I cannot believe how few people are familar with these outstanding works. Mr. Coben is a real find and I hope he continues to write for a very long time.

Book Review: You will not be able to dribble your way through this book.
Summary: 5 Stars

Fade Away is the third book in the Myron Bolitar series, and it's key in finding out more than ever about Myron's past. Harlan Coben has a witty way of motivating his readers to keep going to the next page with a thrilling lay-up of events. You'll find yourself going into overtime, reading like a player on a fast break, to get to the end. Guard this book like the treasure that it is, and only pass it forward to the most deserving.

I'll soon be reading Back Spin on the rebound.
