Book Reviews of Fatal Remedies (Commissario Guido Brunetti)Book Review: Donna Leon does it again in Fatal Remedies Summary: 5 Stars
She has me so hooked with her writings. I have the list and check off the ones I read so I am not constantly re reading her mysteries. I really enjoy each one but this one was a new twist on her story writing. She does not start out with the Commissario but instead his wife ! I enjoyed the twist and turns in her story line. It's not heavy reading and keeps me interested. And I love love love reading about my adopted city of Venice.
Book Review: Reviewing Fatal Remedies Summary: 3 Stars
The paperback copy I received of Fatal Remedies was in one piece and the pages were clean, but I was irritated by several flaws.
THe binding was coming apart. It had two Queens Public Library stickers on it. Across the top is the stamp "Queens Library" as well as the handwritten word 'mystery.'
This quality of this copy should have been marketed 'fair' at best.
Book Review: The Post-America World Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellently-written and entertaining view of how the balance of world power and influence is likely to change in the coming decades. It presents a sensible, balanced and persuasive case for the increasing influence of emerging countries such as China and India, without in any way creating an alarmist scenario for the future of America.
Book Review: Behind Every Man Summary: 4 Stars
If you believe that behind every successful man there is a strong woman, then you will love Commissario Brunetti's wife, Paola. She is more than a background character and we learn a great deal about their relationship in another of Leon's good mysteries.
Book Review: Fatal Remedies Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent book; she is an excellent writer. With this book, I have now read ALL of her novels about Venice. I recommend her to everyone.
