Book Reviews of Fatal Tide

Book Review: Another awesome page turner. Everything you need!
Summary: 5 Stars

A great Read. I love Iris Johansen's books. She never disappoints and always does a great suspense with just the right amount of romance. Her characters are always what you want in a character. The only complaint would be that the women main characters always appear too hard headed (or too much attitude)to me. Not always realistic to how I think they'd act. Needless to say, I've read every one of her books and can't wait until she comes out with another. I am an original Grisham, Patterson fan and I love those books as well as Johansens.

You shouldn't be disappointed.

Book Review: summary about dragged under is not a scene in the story??!
Summary: 2 Stars

There is no thrill in the story at all. The murderer is so stupid he falls into traps every time. First of all, his name is revealed at the beginning, which takes away all the fun, and then he is such a fool that everybody would believe he himself would get murdered easily instead. Then, the back summary is a disguise again. The passage about Melis's about to be pulled under( seems... only seems... so exciting) is nowhere to be found in the story. Is there nothing in the story capturing enough that the author has to make up a new passage to grab readers' attention?

Book Review: simply awful
Summary: 1 Stars

I like a good adventure as much as the next person. Never having read Iris Johansen, I picked up Fatal Tide to give it a try (#1 New York Times Bestselling Author!) This is the most childish, implausible, silly book I've read in a long time. She must craft her characters from some formula she's developed to help her create the most inane, dumb, and unintentionally hilarious dopes possible. I made myself finish it, skipping through, hoping that miraculously the main characters would fall off their luxury boat and be eaten by the dolphins in the end. No such luck.

Book Review: Wonderful
Summary: 5 Stars

Many characters were introduced rather quickly and the premise of underwater cities was a little off the wall for me. Once I had the characters straight, the story unfolded at a quick pace and became very engrossing. The primary and secondary characters are engaging. The dolphins almost steal the show and I would not be surprised if Iris Johansen's next book features Nicholas Lyons as the protagonist. This is a good, light read that will appeal to fans of the romantic suspense genre. Another book that I highly recommend is "he never called again."

Book Review: Reads like a harlequin
Summary: 2 Stars

I absolutely love Iris Johansen. I've read all of her last six or seven books. But this book I found to be a disappointment. It reads like a Harlequin romance novel (and for some that may be okay, but not for me). The story wasn't as deep, the characters not as intriguing, and quite simply I had to struggle to get through the book. It was a disappointment. I hope her next book will return to her intricate plots and deeper characters - and less on the silly and unrealistic sex twists that this story held.
