Book Review: An excellent readable book.

I have a collection of Filemaker books: Missing Manual, FileMaker In depth and videos by John Mark Osborne. All of them have great features.
Recently, I bought the FM Bible by Ray Cologon because I was not satisfied by the material I already had.
Ray's book solved many of the problems I was having in the Missing Manual book. For example the Missing Manual becomes hopelessly confusing in chapter 8, when the table occurrences - TO's, take bizarre names and the author starts using an antiquated `anchor buoy system'. The same concept of TO's was dealt with very elegantly by Ray.
Ray's book is readable and has a flow. He also saves us from the humor and witticism which, books like missing manual and `Dummy' series contain.
The author carefully explains why Filemaker is different from other databases programs, especially, the graph and the Table occurrences. This is vital to know for someone migrating from Microsoft Access etc.
You start building an Invoice solution early in the book. The solution slowly grows and matures over the chapters. Newbies may find it hard to understand early in the book, because the concepts of table and relationships come after you build the structure. Is this a cart before the horse? I think not because, once you have built the structure (at least went along with the instructions) you will find it easy to understand the deeper concepts.
The beauty of the book is in the concept of simplification. Some authors can simplify convoluted subjects and make the common man understand the concepts. Ray has that gift.
Ray was kind enough to answer my question. I was astonished to receive an answer from him promptly.
This is great book to have in your library.
