Book Reviews of French Women Don't Get FatBook Review: If you love food writing this is the book for you... Summary: 5 Stars
I had long heard of this book, but hesitated to read it as I thought I knew it all when it came to developing a healthy attitude toward food. But the writing is so delightful, encouraging and sensible I could hardly put it down! As someone who loves to cook (and eat) and is seriously interested in the whole real foods movement, but has struggled with being preoccupied with weight gain, I loved it! And I CANNOT WAIT to try the mouth watering recipes! A real manifesto for American women, we've been sold short by our cultural eating habits.
Book Review: the best non-diet diet book ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I picked this book up at a yard sale after reading good reviews and found that it is definitely a keeper! Madame Guiliano has an interesting writing style and a common sense approach to weight loss. As a French woman living in America, she gained 15 pounds in a year....only to go back to France and lose it again. The book tells you everything you already know to be true wrapped up in one sentence: Enjoy the food you love-in MODERATION. Wine, chocolate, four course dinners...have them all and your slim figure also! Just a charmer.
Book Review: French women don't get fat Summary: 5 Stars
This is a wonderful book. I first discovered it as an audio version read by the author, Mireille Guiliano, borrowed from the library. Because that version was abbreviated, I wanted to read the actual book as it also included some recipies. I enjoy practicing common wisdom advise given in this book. It's a healthy outlook on life and, in particular, women's health and well being. A refreshing diversion from screaming "quick fix" diets that don't work in the long term.
Book Review: FRENCH WOMEN DON'T GET FAT--HOPE FOR AMERICAN WOMEN! Summary: 5 Stars
I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK--THE AUTHOR WAS KIND ENOUGH TO SHARE SOME SECRETS FOR THE REST OF US WHO STRUGGLE WITH IMPULSE EATING, EATING BEYOND FULLNESS, OR FOR EMOTIONAL GRATIFICATION. HER STRATEGIES WERE VERY HELPFUL AND THOUGH I'M NOT WHERE I WANT TO BE IN MY STRUGGLE WITH OVER-EATING, I CAN EAT LESS AND BE SATISFIED SOONER. THAT IS A SMALL VICTORY! THANK YOU MIREILLE!
Book Review: French Women Rule Summary: 5 Stars
This book gives me an idea of how to think about food, how to eat like a lady and how to really enjoy the art of eating and preparing each meal. Simple and fabulous! Quality is the key!
. French ladies really know how to live and celebrate each and every meal. Less is more in oh so many ways!
