What a great, quick, pragmatic read. As a Senior Pastor, who reads a lot of such books, I can say that I easily found a half dozen or more worthwhile ideas in this book that I'm going to put into use immediately. I'm also going to have my staff read the book.
Searcy focuses on the process of assimilation and describes what it takes to get the nervous, first-time visitor to become a member. He walks you through the practical steps of wowing the visitor, collecting necessary contact information and feedback, and helping the visitor know how to become more involved in the church.
The best part about the book is that it doesn't feel contrived. You don't get the sense that Searcy is teaching you how to manipulate people. Instead, he seems to be someone who just passionately loves the Church and wants it to grow and thrive.
