Book Review: great beginners book, and good tips for the advanced user

This is a great book for those who are just starting. I found the recipe to be easy to make and follow. Having some experience with gingerbread cookies, I modified it some, but not noticeably enough to change anything.
For the more advanced user, it gives good tips and ideas that make it a good book to keep on hand.
Overall a definite must-buy for the gingerbread enthusiast.

Filled with tips and ideas. It's informative and written with light humor, not like reading a dry instruction manual. It has everything from basic to advanced ginger breading. Discusses recipes, constructing and decorating, preserving/storing, lighting, etc. Sketches are very detailed. Includes tree and fence ideas to `landscape' your gingerbread house. ... then purchase this book to add to your collection. If you are a beginning "gingerbreader", this book probably won't be a big help to you. There are no pictures/photos provided as visual aid to explain procedures. I have several books on gingerbread house baking/creating purchased through Amazon. I should have read ALL of the reviews. My bad. Instead I was in a rush, and added it based on all the positive comments. If you are a novice, this book will work well for you. However, for the more seasoned builder/baker this was a waste of money. It's not worth it to send back. I'll probably give this as a gift to my nephew who wants to give this a try.Book Review: The essential book for first-time gingerbreaders!

This is THE book for anyone wishing to jump into the world of gingerbread house design, construction and decoration. I have purchased several books on gingerbreading since I created my first houses using this book and I always end up using Christa's recipe and baking tips, no matter what design I am trying out. They are fool-proof!
