Book Reviews of Girls in TrucksBook Review: Not a good "southern woman" book! Summary: 1 Stars
Wow, would I want my daughter to read this! That would be a big NO! While I did like some of Ms Crouch's writing the plot is pathetic. Sex- crazed girls, boozing mother wtih an elitist attitude, disgusting lovers, child by a one-night-stand encounter, hates Charleston [I have to wonder about that one}, and, obviously, hates the South. I could go on but I will spare the reader! Where would a "southern" writer get such a downer attitude? Certainly not growing up in Charleston, SC!!
Book Review: I like the cover... Summary: 1 Stars
I had a lot of hope for this book, and I was so thrilled when I finally was able to sit down and open it. From the cover alone, I wanted to sink into the book and enjoy it. Well, for me, the cover was the only thing that I enjoyed. It is one of those books that you can pick up and read just about any chapter at random and not miss a thing. I, personally, HATE books like that. I do not recommend this book. My apologies to the author...
Book Review: Huh? Summary: 1 Stars
This book seemed really promising. However, it meanders around with very unlikeable characters who do very unlikeable things. Which would have been fine, if I hadn't anticipated something else. I'm not quite sure how I was mislead so much, I was very disappointed though. The main character ends up being so unlikeable that I didn't want to read anymore about her. I didn't even end up finishing the book.
Book Review: Awful, Terrible, Horrible Summary: 1 Stars
This book was just awful, I would have stopped reading after the first chapter if not for my book club choosing this terrible book. The writing is poor, skipping around not following a clear path, and what is with adding "Whatever" after half of the sentences in the middle of the book. The characters are unlikeable, the main character is downright pathetic. I would not recommend this to anyone.
Book Review: don't bother reading past the inside cover Summary: 1 Stars
This book failed to live up to the expectations I had after reading the book jacket. It was full of cliches and the story line was absolutely pointless. The ending was awful and lacked any sort of resolution. Katie Crouch took what could have been an interesting "coming of age tale" and made it as dull and inane as possible. Save your time and money and read something, ANYTHING, else.
