Book Reviews of Girls in TrucksBook Review: Contemporary literature at its finest Summary: 5 Stars
Sarah Walters charms the reader with her humor and independence even as she desperately searches for love. This conflict-- between wanting love and simultaneously rejecting it-- forms the core of this book and is beautifully rendered in the ending. Katie Crouch is a rising star on the contemporary literature scene.
Book Review: Readable but lacking in plot Summary: 3 Stars
This book is sort of a Seinfeld-like story. There isn't really a plot and the various Southern belles just wander around messing up their lives and not really living up to their potential. The rambling is readable but not really compelling. Maybe someone with ties in South Carolina could relate better.
Book Review: Uncertain beginning Summary: 4 Stars
At first I felt this book was a terrible put down on Southern standards for young women. The book kept me interested so that I read it at once. When I finished I felt sorry for the characters although my opinion about Southern reputations remain unchanged.
Book Review: Too much nothing Summary: 3 Stars
I heard some nice reviews about this book so I bought the hardcover thinking it was a keeper. Well, it's not. The book goes on and on about a girl who's stuck in a rut. I kept thinking, why doesn't this girl smarten up? It was quite disappointing.
Book Review: Skip it! Summary: 1 Stars
The only positive thing I can say about this book is the cover photo! I wanted to read it since Charleston is a favorite place of mine. The characters were boring, the content was obnoxious and the dialogue was useless. I hated this book!
