Book Review: Beautiful, diverse book with moving text and gorgeous photos

This book concept is simple.. baby faces -- really the most favorite thing babies love to look at.
Each baby represents a different country and is dressed in "traditional" garb. The babies are different sizes, shapes and of course, colors. Check the Amazon listed reviews above for the touching text that accompanies the photos.
In a time where even small children pick up the tensions of our modern international conflicts, it is especially poignant to have babies from Iraq and Afghanistan among those babies who, just as those pictured from western nations as also "beautiful, special and loved."
Something that also struck me is that there is at least four photos of babies being worn in carriers, slings or other types of baby carriers (possibly more, the wider context of the photos is not always clear). While this is only recently gaining ground in America (as evidenced by the motrin campaign that tried to cash in on it!), worldwide, babies are worn with much more regularity. Truthfully, babywearing is a natural state in a way American's often don't understand.
Overall this is a wonderful book for infants and young babies, and a wonderful message as they start to understand the text. Great choice for a book for your own child or a gift for another.
