Book Reviews of Go, Dog. Go! (Beginner Books)Book Review: A favorite for two generations. Summary: 5 Stars
My mom saved my copy of this book and it is my two year old son's favorite book. The word-to-picture ratio is perfect. He never gets impatient and we talk about something new each time -- the colors of the cars, whether he likes the poodle's hats, if he thinks the dogs are happy or sad or sleepy... It might even be said to be a three generation favorite since my mom loves to read it to him!
Book Review: A Most Loved Prereader Summary: 5 Stars
This book has been taped and taped so many times because it is so loved. My Kinder boy loves reading it to my preschooler. Of course the very favorite part is viewing the dog party at the end, which I remember as a child. The simple illustrations offer visual clues to the wording of the book. After reading this a few hundred times, your 3 year old will "read" it to you. A good one!
Book Review: Good book Summary: 5 Stars
I have just finished reading the heartwarming novel, Go, Dog. Go! I found it a compelling and disturbing look at the canine psyche. If I may be permitted to quote a passage from the book. "Big Dog." "Little Dog". "A red dog on a ..." Well anyway, I don't want to give away the ending, but I will say that spirals towards on an incredible twist-turn that parallels my own life!
Book Review: Buy, dog, buy. Summary: 5 Stars
Well made replica of the version I read as a tyke in the '60s. The hardback version appears in good binding, and the story and drawings are exactly as I remember them. Now I get to enjoy them a second time with my kids. The book is marginally educational; it's mostly just fun, and kids will enjoy the bright pictures of wildly active dogs up to all kinds of shenanigans.
Book Review: 9 years at my house and still going strong Summary: 5 Stars
We all have this book memorized. One son wanted it read out loud every day, several times a day, for many months. It's colorful, fun, silly, and has great rhymes. It also teaches color and direction (like up, down, over, etc).
Another wonderful read-aloud, but excellent for beginning readers to use as well.
