Book Reviews of God Gave Us YouBook Review: What a wonderful story? Summary: 5 Stars
I started reading this book to my son when he was first born. He is three now and we still read it multiple nights a week. Now when we get to the page where the mom says every night she prayed for the baby my son says "you prayed for me right?" and when the baby bear says she loves God he says "I love God, do you mama?". These are such special memories. I read some of the negative reviews of this book about social stigma and blah blah blah...it is a beautiful story about a mom putting her child to bed and talking to her about how special she is and how much they wanted her. What more can you ask for?
Book Review: Precious Summary: 5 Stars
A loving book that gently explains to a child how very special they are to God - how they were created with great love and the parents were specially blessed with the birth of their precious child - a gift from God. It's heart-warming, tender and sweet. The story is easy to understand from a child's perspective and each page is full of interesting, colorful pictures. The perfect gift book to give or receive. I bought one for each of my Grandchildren when they were born and wrote a special message inside, significant to each one. I hope in the years to come they will grow to cherish it.
Book Review: Mostly good- way too long though Summary: 3 Stars
The book is cute but goes on and on... and on. Don't expect that an average one, two, or even three year old would sit through this entire book as the story drags out. It would be a 5 star book if it excluded the unnecessary messages of hospital birth and bottle feeding and stuck to a length appropriate for children. This is one of those books that you could buy for a baby shower gift for that person at work who you aren't really sure what else to get them and they've put bottles on their registry and you know they attend church on Sundays.
Book Review: A Precious Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book is wonderful!! It explains the subject of where we come from in a thoughtful, truthful, and biblical manner. It's heartwarming, and my daughter absolutely loves it. She feels so special (as she should) when we read it and apply it to her. We actually have used this book to talk a little bit about the upcoming birth of our next baby. My daughter completely understands that her mommy's tummy is going to get bigger and bigger as the baby gets bigger and bigger just like the polar bear in God Gave Us You.
Book Review: Heartwarming and Delightful Summary: 5 Stars
This beautiful story is very appropriate for my three year old daughter's questions about where she came from. This book chronicles a the birth of a baby bear from when her parents pray for a baby bear all the way through birth without all of the medical details. It simply shows the Mommy bear's tummy growing and the parents preparing for their new arrival. It tastefully omits the actual parts of conception and delivery. It leaves these details for parental discretion. My daughter loved it!
