Book Reviews of Gomorrah

Book Review: Food destruction
Summary: 4 Stars

Great read. The most troubling to me, was his description of waste disposal in the countryside.
Knowing that all food uptakes what is in the soil. I wonder if my favorite wine, cheese, and pork is contaminated with hazardous material. I think the Italian food companies have more to worry about
than the mafia, if this crime becomes widely known. Time to try some French wine.

Book Review: a must read
Summary: 5 Stars

I've read this book to find out more about the reality of Naples and surrounding areas. I found out instead what happens around all of us no matter where we are. The book helped me understand better what organized crime does (besides selling drungs and racketeering). I had NO IDEA.
This is not fiction and it is not narrative. This is information.

Book Review: A Walk on the Dark Side
Summary: 5 Stars

It is not often that I render an audible gasp on the first page of a book. GOMORRAH is not for the gentle souls among us. It is raw, brutally descriptive, and at the same time very informative. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can say this book will haunt my thoughts for sometime to come. If you want to walk on the dark side this is your book. Fabulous !!!

Book Review: (Not so) Bella Napoli
Summary: 5 Stars

The book provides a great look at crime and crooks in and around Naples. I lived there for a few years in the mid-1990's and saw much of the same, but from the perspective of an American outsider, rather than a native Neopolitan. I recommend this to everyone that wants to peek behind the facade of Southern Italian charm. Grazie Sr. Saviano...

Book Review: Boring
Summary: 2 Stars

I picked this up expecting an interesting and in-depth look at the author's infiltration of the Mafia in Sicily. I didn't make it far enough to see if it actually happened. This book failed the 50 page rule, meaning that it didn't get to the point and was not interesting enough to compel me to read past page 50.
