Book Review: Flashbacks...
Summary: 4 Stars

As a former student of Cascade (97-99), this book had me interested as soon as I heard about it. Her description of Cascade was fairly accurate. I only wish she had at least touched on the other workshops at Cascade. However, her descriptions of the Truth, I & Me (Dialogues, when I went through), and Symposium brought me right back to those moments! I have already suggested this book to other graduates, and they are floored by the accuracy of Alison's description of Cascade. I am also getting copies for my parents, sister, and fiance, so they can better understand what I went through at Cascade, for better or worse.

UPDATE: I have read Alison's book numerous times at this point, and am reading it yet again. This book brings back chilling memories of Cascade, both good and bad. It is helping me go through some issues I am facing at this point in my life, being a former student of Cascade, and knowing exactly what she's talking about. But also my family has gotten more of an understanding why I made some of my post-Cascade life choices.

Alison Weaver's privileged upbringing hid the darker undertones of her childhood until her parents shipped her away, at fifteen, to the cultish Cascade School, warping her perception of reality. Upon graduation, set adrift in New York's East Village in the 1990s, her life began a downward spiral marked by needles and late-night parties.
