Book Review: the best for basic electroincs

I am fairly new to electronics and wanted to get a book that would provide a solid learning foundation. After thumbing through a lot of books I settled on this one, which was ultimately an easy choice. Everything seems to be here that the beginner would need to develop an excellent understanding of the basics of electronics. The layout is in classic textbook form with plenty of illustrations, examples and problems to work. All of which combine nicely with the text to provide a very easy to understand format, more so then many other books on the topic I have seen (Electronics Fundamentals: Circuits, Devices, and Applications by Thomas L. Floyd, seems to be equally as well done, which was a close second in my choice for a beginner's book. It's also worth checking out). As a beginner, this book has done an excellant job of providing everything I wanted in a basic electronic book for newbies. This book is on the expensive side, but typical for a textbook. What this book gives in return is well worth the price of admission. I was definetly happy with the purchase and would buy it again if something where to happen to it. Although I have not had a chance to see Grub's supplement books yet (Problems in Grob Basic Electronics, Experiments in Grob Basic Electronics, and Mathematics for Grob Basic Electronics), I am sure they would complement this book very well. Especially if this book is any indication of the quality of his companion material.
In closing, I can't recommend this book highly enough for the beginner.
