Book Reviews of Guess How Much I Love You

Book Review: Great little book! Sure to be a classic.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great little book, and is sure to become a classic. We had several "board books", including this and other classics such as "Goodnight Moon" and "Runaway Bunny". The tale unfolds at a comfortable pace, and is soothing enough that it makes a FANTASTIC bedtime story. We always seem to end it with a yawn, not because the story is dull but because it is relaxing.

My son particularly loved this book, and he and my daughter still like to quote "I love you to the moon and back". The nice thing about board books is they are sturdy for little hands, and make the pages easy for young children to turn. They are also easier to wipe clean if something gets on them. Over time, they become not "worn", but "loved".

Book Review: Lovely, touching message of love
Summary: 5 Stars

I have given this little book to the people in my life whom I love most dearly. My Mom got it from me when she was in her early 90's,and absolutely loved it.She would read it over and over and never failed to give me a hug when she read the last line.Reading it now chokes me up because Mom is gone now,but it also makes me feel sad in a good
way, because I know Mom knew I loved her to the moon and back,as she loved me.
I have also given it to my best friend,my SO,and nieces and nephews, all of whom fell in love with it.
It's too late for Valentine's Day,but consider giving this book to anyone you love and who loves you back. You will both feel warm and fuzzy, and that can only be a good thing.

Book Review: Touching and just plain sweet
Summary: 5 Stars

My 1st son is well beyond the age of getting bedtime stories from Mom, but I was reading this to his little brother the other night and I glanced up and saw him sitting on the floor in the hallway listening.
Later he told me it had been his favorite story when he was little because the end where Big Nutbrown Hare tells him she loves him to "the moon and back" always made me get teary. Thats the kind of book this is, a sweet enduring tale of the all encompassing love a child and parent have for each other.
This book is the most touching testament to this devotion I have ever read..and it STILL makes me tear up at the end.

Book Review: Great Book for Cuddling...
Summary: 4 Stars

I've read this book for a few years to my niece and have now started with my infant son.

It reminds me of the phone game I played with many of my relatives as a young child..."I love you more. No I love you more. I love you an infinity plus one."

I loved the way comparing the quantity of love made me feel when I was far away from some of my loved ones.

When I read this book to the little ones I love, I feel the same warmth inside and hope they will too.

Highly recommended, especially if the "I love you more" game is a family tradition.

Book Review: Doesn't hold my daughter's interest
Summary: 1 Stars

Whenever I read this book to my daughter, she starts fidgeting on my lap and looking around for her other books. The illustrations are beautiful, but somewhat monochromatic (the hares are brown of course, but there's not much variety of background...). The other off-putting issue with this book is the one-up-man-ship of Big Nutbrown Hare. The book may purport to be about unconditional love, but Big Nutbrown Hare makes a point to show Little Nutbrown Hare that he's always going to have the last word and most clever reply. Based on these two factors, the book rates one star.
