Book Reviews of Ham Radio For DummiesBook Review: Helpful Summary: 4 Stars
I found this book to be very helpful. As a "new" Ham, I found it useful with terminolgy, equipment and just getting on the air to make that "first" contact. The author included several resources for online help. The book covers a variety of topics from atenna's to global connections. I would recommend this book to any "new" Ham.
Book Review: great!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have been a licenced ham radio operater for three years. HRFD has helped me discover a lot of the tricks that it took Ward Silver thirty + years to learn. It is easy to understand and fun to study. The subtle humor makes it a technical volume that will never collect dust. Thanks Ward, its about time.

This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to get into HAM radio or is new to the hobby. I am a general class looking at going for Extra in the next few months. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the hobby.

Book Review: Good but somehow unsatisfying Summary: 3 Stars
I am recently licensed and I bought this book hoping for information and inspiration. I got some of each and the book made me realize why Hams tend to specialize in certain niches within the field. I still haven't found mine
Book Review: Ham Radio Exam preparation Summary: 5 Stars
This book helped clarify the more technical aspects of preparing for an Amateur Radio Technician Class license from the FCC. Used in conjunction with another study guide, I was able to deciper the techno-geekese. Good basis.
