Book Review: This book is dangerous and should not be bought

I was dismayed when I read this book. The author lists probable causes for over a hundred medical ailments, such as liver problems, prostate problems, gout, etc. The probable cause are "thought patterns." Then for each probable cause, she gives a new thought pattern meant to replace the old one, thereby relieving the problem. Here are some examples:
Problem: Canker sores
probable cause: Festering words held back by the lips. Blame.
New thought pattern: I create only joyful experienes in my loving world.
Problem: Leukemia
Probable cause: Brutally killing inspiration. "What's the use?"
New thought pattern: I move beyond past limitations into the freedom of the now. It is safe to be me.
All others are very similar to these samples.
I think this book is dangerous. It is a classic example of psuedoscience - fake science. The author, Louise Hay, is offering advice on how to cure medical problems based on nonscientific principles. She does not specify any evidence for any of these claims, nor can she because it is based on vague concepts based on her intuitions and her experience. This type of thinking was common during the Dark Ages, and I am astounded (but not surprised) that any modern, critical thinking person today would believe this jibberous.
However, I do think, based on scientific evidence that the mind can affect the body's well-being. For example, the placebo effect is real, and stress can cause problems, such as ulcers. But to state that the probable cause for cataracts is the "inability to see ahead with joy. Dark future" without any evidence, is almost laughable.
Why is this book dangerous? Many people will believe that the causes of these symptoms are these thought patterns, and not seek a real doctor who can provide real help. People should value scientific evidence above unsupported claims held by nonexperts.
Louise Hay is not a doctor, but says she is a metaphysical lecturer and teacher. I am a Full professor at a University with a Ph.D. in Psychology, teach critical thinking and scientific inquiry courses, and have published several articals in peer-reviewed journals.
