Book Review: Spot on!

Having had a father that passed of a heart attack at age 57, naturally I was always concerned about what would happen to me as I aged. I aggressively treated my high cholesterol and high LDL and Triglycerides with statins. On the max dose of Lipitor on and off for the past 4-5 years. Well guess what happened to me at age 57! Yep, had a left anterior descending artery (aka The Widowmaker) 85% blocked. I had a successful stent installed and it's now been about 18 months of nothing but improvement. So why, with all of the wonders that big pharma brainwashes our docs and us with did I essentially have the same result my father had?? He passed because there were few bypasses and no stents in 1979. Yes medical technology saved me but no thanks to big pharma. Now after the statins for over 15 years I have chronic back pain and most recently pains shooting down my right arm. After reading Shane's book and doing other research, I reduced the lipitor to 10mg and am only on that dose as several reliable, NOT BACKED BY BIG PHARMA, sources say that statins have a protective benefit for the arteries at very low dose that does not improve with high doses. I have now read all of Shane's books and am no longer a fan of big pharma. Check it out for yourself and BUY THE BOOK!
