Book Reviews of Hold TightBook Review: not one of his best Summary: 2 Stars
All of his books are manipulative and contrived but the best of his books such as Gone For Good, Tell No One and especially the terrific Promise Me and No Second Chance are a mile a minute roller coaster thrill rides of excitement. Even though you know you've been had at the end the journey was well worth it. This book however feels as if I've read it before and the non stop familly entanglements would be better suited for a TV soap then a mystery thriller. Skip this and read the others. Note to Harlen the villianess in No Second Chance was a great character. I hope to see more of her and maybe even a book built around her.
Book Review: Suspenseful Read Summary: 5 Stars
This is probably one of the best books by Harlan Coben that I have read. Despite the fact that there are many different characters, I found it very entertaining and easy to follow. Somehow, each character within the story is intertwined and at some point within the story, interacts with each other. The descriptions were superb and the Baye family was believable to the occurrences happening within the book. I couldn't put it down once I began reading. The plot was original and kept me guessing. I didn't know what was going to happen until the end. A very good read that keeps you guessing!
Book Review: Hold Tight Summary: 5 Stars
I feel it's almost impossible to have a local suicide, a son disappear, a local child with a life threatening condition, and a couple murders all in one novel (and one neighborhood) and keep it all straight. But, Harlan Corben does it (again), in his fine novel, "Hold Tight"
Harlan works hard but cleverly to bring it all together in the final chapters providing a real cliff hanger. But, again, it all works out well and the novel is a most enjoyable and exciting read, in keeping with his previous works.

Book Review: The title says it all Summary: 5 Stars
Any time you start a Coben novel, you're in for a great reading ride. As usual "Hold Tight" is filled with interesting characters who..for a while....have no obvious connection. Then it all begins to fall into place. The reader may need to turn back once in a while as the events sometimes seem of little important but then explode onto the scene. I can think of nothing better, on these cold winter evenings, than a mystery like "Hold Tight" although it may keep you up very late just turning one more chapter....one more page.
Book Review: too many characters Summary: 4 Stars
I am a big fan of Harlan Coben, but I feel that this story has almost too many characters and subplots that take most of the book to finally become related. The complex subplots made it hard to sense any growing tension or excitement. Since I read this over a couple of weeks, I kept referring to notes I wrote on the inside cover to help me recall who these characters were. Having said that, Mr. Coben still shows his gift for descriptive writing, full of insight and wistful observations, which makes every book worth reading.
