Book Review: Wonderful Dictionary despite obvious biases.

This is wonderful dictionary in terms of the wealth of dept the Biblical Scholars have given concerning people, places, and events. It is exhaustive (compressive) beyond a doubt, however, the dictionary does geared towards denominational beliefs (Baptist). The dictionary is conservative, and most of the contributors are Baptist. Thus, when it comes to many terms (such as "Baptism", "Lord's Supper", etc), one will obviously get a bias response, which will gear towards the Baptist, and other Protestant sects, belief system.
For historical references, this dictionary is a must for a Bible student. When I received this dictionary, I was studying the Gospel According to Saint Luke, the information this dictionary gave towards historical places (i.e., "Jerusalem", Bethlehem", etc), and people (i.e., the Jewish sects mention in the Gospels, etc) was quite helpful. It was also helpful how the dictionary explain the different viewpoints dealing with the Book of Revelation and the end times.
In conclusion, if you want a dictionary of the Holy Scriptures for historical purposes, this is one of the best Bible dictionaries to have, but be aware that in many places, the dictionary does reflect the author [s] bias, which is true perhaps with every Bible dictionary. One should certainty purchase multiple dictionaries, in order to study all viewpoints concerning various doctrines/practices.
