Book Reviews of Home Maintenance for DummiesBook Review: Very helpful indeed Summary: 4 Stars
The chapters are organized by area of the house (outside, inside, appliances, etc.) and really pack a good amount of advice and tips in each. As another reviewer said, there are recipes for your own cleaning solutions (deck cleaners, floor cleaners) that work really well (our deck was in rough shape). The maintenance schedule in the back is also handy. This was our first home and having this book was such a help. I've read it and keep referring to it!
Book Review: 1st time home-owner Summary: 4 Stars
This book is useful resource for the first time homeowner. After living in my house for a year I started thinking...aren't there things I should be doing to make sure my house doesn't fall apart?? I had gotten so used to apartment life, that I didn't think about maintaining my own home. I like having this book to go to for reference and what to do for year-round maintenance.
Book Review: Good but not great Summary: 3 Stars
My husband and I got this book when we bought our first house. We thought it would give detailed instructions on how to do things around the house. It has some good information, but it's not very detailed. Someone gave us a copy of Home Depot's Home Improvement 1-2-3, and it's much more of what we were looking for.
Book Review: worked Summary: 5 Stars
This book has provided me with the knowledge that I needed to complete jobs around the house that I could not otherwise have been able to do. This book provided me with the incentive to do it myself.
Book Review: Good book Summary: 5 Stars
I am creating a home library for my new house after living in a apartment for 32 years of my life. This book is a outstanding book for any rookie home owner.
