Book Review: Excellent home reference for a beginner

This book was my first purchase for practical help with homeopathy. It covers all the major illnesses and accidents. Each chapter has general advice, a listing of useful remedies and guiding symptoms, followed by a useful chart.
Many reviewers don't seem to like the charts. I find them to be quite helpful. It is annoying that there are no page numbers on the chart pages.
The end of the book has a mini materia medica and repertory.
I bought the Boiron Family kit here at amazon. Boiron HomeoFamily Kit, 32 Multi Dose/12 Unit Dose OsillococcinumIt contains most of the remedies mentioned in this book. With that kit and this book, you'll be ready to tackle illness and injury.
It is interesting that one of the authors is the widow of the famous Dr. Heimlich. Since some of my family think homeopathy is nonsense, Heimlich lends some mainstream credibility. Not necessary for me, but could be useful when trying to convince a doubting spouse or family member.
Book Review: Helpful and comforting

This is the first book I bought on homeopathic medicine when I first began using it more than twelve years ago. I like the way it is written - it almost feels as though you have a kindly physician sitting across from you. That being said, my one complaint with this book is the repetories/remedies pages that are placed at the end of each chapter. I have never used these and find them a bit confusing.
If you do buy this book (and I encourage you to - it's well worth the investment) I would really encourage you to read the book through. Then you will be able to more easily find the remedies that apply to you in times of emergency. I now have several books on homeopathy on my shelves, and this is always the first one I turn to when I or a family member are sick.
Well worth the investment.

Of all the homeopathic books written for the general public, this is one of the most useful. If you've suffered a minor injury, or come down with a cold, flu or earache, or if you are having an upset stomach, this book will quickly guide you to the correct remedy. It is easily understood by the medical layperson, and it will give you solid knowledge of how to treat yourself and others in a safe, natural way, without the risks, side-effects and costs of conventional drugs.It goes without saying that any self-help book, no matter how good, does not replace the care of a medical professional. If you have a serious or chronic condition, and you think that homeopathy can help, go see a qualified homeopathic practitioner.
Book Review: Great resource tool

"Homeopathic Medicine at Home" is a great tool for everyday use.
If you tend to believe that all cures are found in natural products
and not in today's modern medicines then this book is for you. The
tables of suggested remedies for various problems are very helpful.
The only drawback is finding these rather obscure products to have
on hand. However, many products can be used for multiple uses, so
after going thru the book and finding the most commonly used products
a consumer can choose the most useful items to stock.
This book is well written and to the point and not over the heads
of most consumers as are many medicinal publications.

This book is an excellent beginners First Aid book - FIRST AID being the key phrase, it will not cover deeper constitutional problems such as warts, asthma, eczema etc because these are chronic not first aid situations and need to be addressed by a professional.
The table layouts are especially helpful as quick reference and have been commented on by those I teach Homeopathic First Aid too. The Materia Medica section at the back is also well written and easy to read in a hurry.
Dr Panos and Dr Heimlich's book still rates very highly on my first homeopathy book suggestion list.
