Book Reviews of Hot ChocolateBook Review: Great Little Book Summary: 5 Stars
This book came to my attention when one of my friends received it as a gift. After leafing through it I wanted a copy and decided to try and and find it at Amazon. They had it in stock so I bought two of them and gave one as a gift. I found the book to be more than a receipe book for Hot Chocolate. It told how and where to find the best Chocolate. It turned a cup of Hot Chocolate into an adventure. I am so pleased with the book I am going to give it as a Christmas gift to all my friends.
Book Review: Undrinkable - but you could eat it. Maybe... Summary: 1 Stars
We tried the most basic recipe in this book as a special treat over the Christmas holidays. I'm sorry to say, that while we were looking forward to rich cups of chocolate (our first love), we didn't have cups of steaming ganache in mind. Make no mistake, you'd better be really into chocolate to buy this book. We thought we were, but two melted Lindt bars later (that's for 2.5 cups of chocolate), we quickly learned there IS such a thing as too much chocolate.
Book Review: Hot chocolate, not hot cocoa. Summary: 4 Stars
There are a few folks complaining about the end product being of a sludge consistency. The reason is, these are hot chocolate recipes not hot cocoa recipes. So if you are looking for hot cocoa, open a Taste Of Home magazine or find a different book, this one isn't for you. Otherwise, after a couple of rich cups of chocolate, we were hooked. Just make sure you get a small cup. These are very rich.
Book Review: These recipes must not have been tested. Summary: 1 Stars
This cookbook has good ideas in it but it is impossible to get a good cup of hot chocolate from any of these recipes. The proportions are all wrong and when the recipes are followed you end up with thick, hot goo. It is unfortunate but that is the reality of this cookbook. Skip it, I wish I had.
Book Review: Delicious Summary: 5 Stars
The recipes in this book are amazing. They're so much fun to make and I really enjoy reading about the origins of the recipe. If you're into hot chocolate, I recommend this book.
