Book Reviews of How Do Dinosaurs Go To School?Book Review: Review from Books That Heal Kids Summary: 5 Stars
I am an elementary school counselor and enjoy reading this story to encourage positive social skills.
Yes! Another fun one encouraging good social skills. Dinosaurs teaching behavior management!!?? Right on! Have your dinosaur puppets on stand-by for this one. It asks negative questions about behavior like, "Does a dinosaur YELL?" The next page won't give the answer or demonstrate the correct behavior. So I break this one up by taking the time to model each correct behavior after each question. Sometimes this can be a two part lesson. Sitting at the carpet learning school rules for 30 minutes can be BORING so make it fun and light.
Book Review: Great visuals, mediocre writing Summary: 4 Stars
My two-and-half-year-old daughter loves these "How-To" dinosaur books. How Do Dinosaurs Go To School? was the first one I got for her, which she was hooked on and triggered me to buy the other three in the series (big format ones). The book is very educational and she can memorize and articulate all the 10 dinosaurs names provided in the book. However, while the illustrations are highly entertaining to a toddler, the language, like that in the other books in the series, is quite lackluster. It would be ideal if the book also shed literary value and were enjoyable to read aloud to a child as well.
Book Review: My daughters favorite book. Summary: 5 Stars
We have almost all of the "how do dinosaurs..." books and I have to say I love them all. This one in particular is my 4 year old daughters favorite. Probably because she goes to school now. I love the pretty pics and the rhyming is very easy to read even when I"m tired. Highly recommend to children both boy and girl. We started reading the series when my daughter was just 2 1/2 and its still a nightly favorite!
Book Review: Love it!!! Summary: 5 Stars
My son loves the books in this series. He is starting preschool in a couple of weeks, so we decided to purchase this to get him prepared. He was even more surprised when he got a toy dinosaur after it was read to him! I can't recommend this enough; the "how do dinosaurs say goodnight" book has saved us many headaches at bedtime. I expect this one will do the same with preschool.
Book Review: My son's favorite! Summary: 5 Stars
My son loves this series. We got them when he was 2 and he isn't a big dinosaur fan, but he loves to read them every night. He likes Goodnight & Eat Their Food better because he's not in school yet, but he loves them all. I like them too. His other fave is the David books, and I get tired of reading those, but I still enjoy reading these. I love that these books teach him what not to do.
