Book Reviews of How to Boil Water

Book Review: Cool for Beginner AND Experienced Cooks!
Summary: 5 Stars

This a really good book! I grew up in Texas and my "culinary" instructors were my mom, aunt and grandmother. I know how to cook all the down home meals they cooked...by sight and memory. No measuring, etc. A massive amount of basic cooking terminology and proper skills didn't make the rounds in my family. This book gave me an education I was not expecting from a basic cookbook. And it was fun! I was kind of skeptical of a lot of the basic, broken down recipes...until I tried them. Basic is good! Very good! I plan on getting copies of this book to my college kids. Every cookbook fan should have a copy of this book in their library.

Book Review: My Favorite Cook Book
Summary: 5 Stars

The title of this cookbook made me laugh, and its awesome recipes have had me coming back to it almost daily! This book is fun, colorful and extremely helpful. The recipes are AWESOME and I've already entertained using them (with many compliments I might add). There are recipes for everything from pesto pasta to awesome breakfast smoothies (I'm actually drinking one right now.) If you are beginner-ish you will love this! And if you're a pro you will still love the helpful hints and delicious recipes. I feel like if I can master this book then I can officially call myself a cook.

Book Review: The GREATEST COOK BOOK ever
Summary: 5 Stars

Alright, where do I start? If you are thinking to buy this book for yourself to learn to cook, BUY IT! If you are considering it for a wedding gift, or graduation gift - BUY IT! In fact, buy more than one. This book is the perfect gift.

So far I have made several recipes, and I am AMAZED at how good each one is. My husband is thrilled I've found this book. I am cooking more than ever, only because I can't wait to taste how good the next recipe will be. I am continually pleased.

I can't stress enough: BUY THIS BOOK.

Book Review: Definitely for the novice.

If you watch cooking shows, know how to make risotto, or make simple sauces from the bits left after grilling meat, then this book is NOT for you. I would get this book for a teenager or a person used to microwaving most of their meals.

There is nothing in this book you can't read online.

If you want a good beginner's book, get "101 Things I Learned in Culinary School."

Book Review: Helpful Informaton and Delicious Recipes
Summary: 5 Stars

I only watched the How to Boil Water show on television once or twice and never all the way through, but this book was surprisingly helpful and informative. It was received as a gift and I originally thought it was kind of a "cook book for a bachelor" type of thing but it actually has delicious and somewhat sophisticated recipes in it as well as some basic introductions to herbs, spices, how to deal with meat and grill vegetables, etc. If you're a meat eater, check out the steak with garlic aeoli and baby back rib recipes--yum!
